    Also Zero Degrees, I notice that both these cameras are 2MP. Does this not imply worse performance than the 4MP Hik cameras or even the 3MP in my original post ?

    Thanks zero-degrees :) Those cameras sound good but unfortunately I need my camera by Christmas for a present and I think at first glance I would have to import your suggestions (I live in UK). Maybe I will go with my original choice and in the new year I can organise getting another better one...
