    Ok, no probs. I only suggested it as I had a similar issue in that I was changing the ip address on the in-camera menu and couldn't then find the camera. The problem was solved by rebooting the camera back to defaults and then using SADP.

    Try downloading the Hikvision utility called SADP and using that to change the IP address instead. It's a program you run which detects and lists all cameras on your network, and allows you to change the IP address.

    Unfortunately you can't just use your 5.3.0 firmware on those cameras you bought from Aliexpress. They are China region coded and will brick if you load a genuine hikvision English firmware version. The 5.2.5 firmware on here, and supplied by many Chinese vendors is a Chinese region firmware...

    You are right of course that IR light is not ideal for identification of offenders. Personally, in your situation I would just build a visible light led floodlight, leave it switched on and do away with the PIR. But that's just my opinion.
