SOVLED: So I went with 1 and got my cameras back working. Since I had already run the brickfixV2 upgrade. All I need to do was change ip to 192.0.0.128, start the hikvision tftp server, and restart each camera to re-download the 5.4.5 firmware.

Have you looked at Milestone system. You can get it for about $50 per camera. I think it has a much better remote viewing client compared to Hikvision.

You need to setup a local stoarge server in PCNVR, and then assign the cameras a recording schedule and to record to the storage server.

Yes its the same thing. I agree its poorly done. This is a business that is not targeting consumers. I would recommend the Xprotect if you are looking for something more polished. However, even that company does not really do retail support either.
