Just wanted to update on this, in case anyone else searches for it. It is now recording both cameras to the SD card, I didn't change anything but after a day it just started working, odd but there it is :) -

I just fixed it. I had already checked the plugs, but this time I pulled it to bits and found there was a wire that was dislodged on the IR side plug, I reinserted it into the plug and it's working as expected now. Thanks for your help. -

Thanks for the reply. I just took the camera down, tried it on another PoE switch, with short (7ft) brand new cables and it has the same result. I tested it in our media room which can be made pitch black, and I can't see anything. Other cameras in this environment can see everything. I even... -

It might be a bug in the software than as in the Dahua cam GUI it will only have playback footage from channel 1. -

Can you record channel 2 with the SD card? Whatever setting I try I can only ever successfully record from Channel 1, I can even set up channel 2 to detect and record from channel 1 but not vice versa and nor can I record from both. -

Geofencing on Android not reliable unless opening the App
Definitely have it as an admin account, even created another one to test it and then even tried with the main admin account, the option just refuses to appear. At this stage and hearing how it seems to be pretty unreliable scripting something myself seems like it will be the best way forward. -

At least you guys have an option, for some reason I don't have geofence as an option in the Android app using a Pixel 3. I think I am going to take the advice I read elsewhere and write a script to test for wifi connectivity, if either phone responds to pings leave indoor cameras off, if... -
