Hikvision DS-2CD2132-I Recording Constantly, No Break

Hik Dome DS-2CD2132-I records constantly. I've tried all the settings I can think of, and rebooted both it and the NVR and no love. I am using camera event enabled in both cam and also NVR settings. Consistently recording constantly. I recently changed the lens from 4mm to 6mm gadinan brand from...

How to swap out lens in Hikvision Dome

Okay, I just pulled on the "ring" pretty hard, and it released, revealing the expected glued lens in lens mount. Easily replaced the lens from there! And it works!

How to swap out lens in Hikvision Dome

I meant to mention that I searched the forums and found helpful instructions for hik bullets and turrets, but this dome has this different "ring" part that I don't understand how to deal with. Thanks for any advice.

How to swap out lens in Hikvision Dome

The issue I'm having is this extra plastic "ring" that the foam is attached to. It's hard plastic and seems to be in the way of getting access to the lens threads / glue, etc to remove the lens itself, even after I remove the lens "mount" above the camera sensor, if that makes sense. I'll go...

Mount Hik Turret in Dense Cedar Tree

okay what about these three products together. Are they compatible? I can use a piece of 2x6 to extend the "arm" away from the pole attachment to give me the extra length to clear the foliage: Amazon.com : DS-1275ZJ Vertical Pole Mount Bracket for CCTV Surveillance Cameras and Wall Mounted...

Mount Hik Turret in Dense Cedar Tree

Those all seem a bit short I think; I need 16" to clear the foliage.

Mount Hik Turret in Dense Cedar Tree

These are Italian Cypress. The tops get blown about, but the mid is not anywhere as bad as those Arborvitae that blow all over. The branches are really short, maybe 14", 15" long max, and horizontal at that height, not like arborvitae that flail all over - so maybe I'll be okay

Mount Hik Turret in Dense Cedar Tree

There isn't a good place to mount a camera. I thought maybe I'd try to mount it in the tree and see if the image is blurry from movement in gentle breezes. The bracket would need to be 16" to clear the foliage. The trunk is almost 6" in diameter. If the image is blurry, I'll have to erect a...

Mount Hik Turret in Dense Cedar Tree

I want to buy/mount a hik turret in a cedar tree like this:https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0763/9173/products/juniperus-virginiana-taylor-eastern-red-cedar-1000433834-1409611784_1024x1024.jpg?v=1490037172 Anyone know where I buy / make a bracket so the lens sticks out of the foliage? Or is...

Noise in Nighttime Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I 3MP

Argh, I should have done more research, and I would have found "klasipca's" Longse S500 / Hisilicon Hi3516A instead of buying these 3MP Hik Bullets! Oh well, next time. (Well, maybe it wouldn't work with my Synology box anyway. Or the ONVIF drivers wouldn't work well with it.)

Noise in Nighttime Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I 3MP

Okay, I got another image (below) with the WDR turned way down. It's still full of noise. Anyone have any ideas? EDIT: I'm not sure why the Noise Reduction Level is now at 48 instead of 100. I didn't change that, and I swear I turned the WDL to 5, not zero, but here's a screenshot of the...

    Poe switch recomendation please

I bought a ZyXEL ES1100-8P, essentially a 4 Port POE switch. Network Camera Critic recommended it. I have heard bad things about linksys, and the plastic box trendnets.

    Record from DS-2CD2432F-IW to NAS?

Yeah, that's what I read on networkcameracritic's blog: http://www.networkcameracritic.com/?p=1729 If you search the blog for "partition" you should find the relevant comments. I think this may be the NFS problem, Stickied...

Noise in Nighttime Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I 3MP

Ah, good question. Here's that before shot: Okay; I'm getting loads of reflection off the house here, and the scene is underexposed to compensate for the bright, bright reflection off the siding.
