Dahua N4104-P (Ex China) - firmware upgrade - risks?

I brought one of these from Ali and recently upgraded the firmware from the Dahua site and it was fine actually it was more than fine it was great as the new firmware allows you to directly access the cams interface and from there the SD card recording my system version is 3.203.0000.0.R I...

    Comparison of IPC-HFW5231E-Z and IPC-HFW4431R-Z

Great comparison, in my opinion the 4431 has a much sharper image and better contrast than the 5231 in the daytime pics - on the rocks next to the tank you can see all the little pits and texture as opposed to being smooth the 5231 is brighter but it certainly isn't sharper on my monitor

Hitting cameras web pages with a laptop in an NVR with POE

If you mean where is it on the NVR web interface? on my NVR the menu under Settings, Camera has been relabelled as registration where it shows the cameras connected and at the right hand side you have a web browse symbol - woohoo direct link - love this new feature

Hitting cameras web pages with a laptop in an NVR with POE

I have just discovered I have the cheaper older? 4104p and not the 4104p-4sk2, 5m as opposed to 8m camera support and dual core as opposed to quad. Correction, Actually while the firmware file is much smaller for my NVR(13meg and 40 meg respectively ) it does in fact support camera web...

Hitting cameras web pages with a laptop in an NVR with POE

I have just checked on the dahua site and the firmware notes for my 4101p says one of the new functions is IPC Visiting which I think you are referring to. Will try to download it tomorrow. Hope it works because that will be really good.

Hitting cameras web pages with a laptop in an NVR with POE

Thanks for the offer, hopefully one day (waiting for useless NBN to connect me up) I will get a new VSDL modem so the router I have now will be doing nothing

Hitting cameras web pages with a laptop in an NVR with POE

No my suggestion doesn't work as you cant assign the same subnet, I have tried some of the posters solutions here and cant get any of them to work - perhaps I am doing it wrong? all I really want to do is access my SD card data

Accessing camera SD card through NVR web interface?

Forgive me if this has been posted before as I cant seem to find anything, I got my Dahua camera a few weeks back but the SD card slot was missing the metal cover, I managed to find the exact type and ordered 10 of them and luckily managed to fit the cover without having to resolder a complete...

Hitting cameras web pages with a laptop in an NVR with POE

I was wondering, With my new Dahua 4 channel poe NVR (4104p) under the Network Tab there is a Switch setting which seems to control the cameras subnet IP, can I just change this to another address - one that I can access the cameras through my web browser? (cant seem to see any "virtual host")

    Firmware not upgradable

I mounted the dome out of the box, but they come with raw plugs for walls which as useless for the boards under the eaves so I use the ramset toggles for plasterboards I can only not recommend one seller on Ali (see my post) they sent me a faulty (firmware?) camera, I paid $36 AUD to send it...

    Firmware not upgradable

I have both these cameras from Ali, (see my other posts) first off the dome has a SD card slot (apart from mine was faulty as had no holder bracket) the bullet on the Chinese models doesn't I do like the look of the bullet because its nice and big and obvious but I'm now more keen on the dome...

Next best thing under 100$ to Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

It all depends on the application for me I don't need night-time - unless I want sharper wildlife images, That's why the cheap daytime ones are fine I'm more worried about daytime with someone turning up in a car I used to like the bullet cams best but now I have gone off them as yet again I...

Next best thing under 100$ to Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

Thanks, so you have to ask for the international versions such as from here? http://www1.dahuasecurity.com/au/search_category.html I am mystified why they make so many cameras that are very similar
