Trouble With Microphone on Hikvision Dome Camera

Here's a quick update. After flashing the firmware on my IP camera from 5.2.0 to 5.2.5 using TFTP, the microphone is now working as normal, but the only thing that sucks is that everything is in Chinese (whereas before, it was all in English). Despite everything being in Chinese, I suppose it...

    Outdoor Wifi Camera

It appears one is a bullet camera and the other is a dome. Other than that, the specs are identical. Dome is primarily used for mounting on the ceilings and bullets for mounting on a vertical wall.

    This guy doesn't belong here

The lighting in the video is very good. Is that purely from on the IR lighting from the camera or is it from an external light? If it's from external lighting, I find it hard to believe one or two external light sources could provide a well-lit area. Also, I'm curious about what your exposure...

Trouble With Microphone on Hikvision Dome Camera

Hey guys, I hate to bump up an old thread, but I'm still having issues with the microphone. Here's my dilemma. I have two dome cameras that has audio capability. One of them has firmware version 5.2.5 and the other, which is currently mounted on the ceiling is version 5.2.0. Apparently, when...

Effectiveness of footage leading to actual arrests, or any other camera sstories?

You guys are lucky enough to live in a nice safe neighborhood. As for me, I have the unfortunate pleasure of living next to drug dealers. I get death threats just about everyday. Before our surveillance cameras were in place & ready for recording, I had to resort to using my cell phone. You...

Trouble With Microphone on Hikvision Dome Camera

I'm a complete idiot when it comes to speakers & microphones. Most of the ones I'm seeing from the other thread are microphones with a 3.5mm jack. On these, there's 3 connectors (center/tip, middle and outer/sleeve). I assume people are cutting off the 3.5mm jack off these microphones...

Trouble With Microphone on Hikvision Dome Camera

I bought one of these high-sensitive mini microphones off eBay and today I was trying to hook it up to my Hikvision DS-2CD2732F-I IP camera. This dome camera has an extra two green plugs from the base of the camera. One for an ALARM trigger and the other is AUDIO. On the connector labeled...

Best NVR Software that money can buy?

I've been looking at the Avigilon software suite and until I saw this thread, it appears I'm seeing good reviews for Exacq. Does someone here have a close estimate of how much money it cost for each Avigilon and Exacq? I don't see prices listed anywhere (and whether licensing is per camera or...

    Hikvision Camera Settings

Thanks all for your helpful feedback. I'll probably have to go back in and mess with the exposure settings again. We do have spot lights that come on automatically when people walk by, but I'm still seeing the blur on one of the cameras - specifically the dome camera. Once we get the rest of...

    Hikvision Camera Settings

I did a quick search around the forum and using Google, but I'm mostly at a loss. When it comes to camera settings, I really suck at it. All our cameras are Hikvisions (DS-2CDxxx2) - a mix of dome, bullet and exir bullet. I've set the configurations about the same for each. At first I was...

    BI recording to USB flash

The magnetic spinning platters in your hard drive will spin no matter what's installed on your PC. The only time when it's not spinning, is when the computer puts it into energy savings mode - usually by putting the computer into sleep or when the computer is turned off. If this is about...

Setting up my system. 4mm 2032 Hik's etc.

When I first started out, I maxed out the best settings in each category on the IP camera itself, then went back to Blue Iris and checked the CPU load and dialed it down until I got a decent compromise. At the time when I did that, there was only 1 camera installed, so I didn't have to worry...

    Recording location files

There's nothing wrong with reviewing surveillance footage that's storage in a NAS from a different computer inside the house that doesn't have the BI software installed in it. I've been doing that for a long time and encouraged my dad to do so to, as my dad isn't very computer literate. The PC...

    BI4 Clip Message Help

Yesterday: Last night I've bought a second WD MyCloud (4TB) NAS to allow me to relocate & increase the storage space of my surveillance camera recordings (and this second NAS is dedicated to surveillance camera recordings only). I've configured the NAS to a static IP address and in the BI4...

    Remote ip camera installation

All you have to do is type in the IP address of the camera into your web browser and use the web-based tool to change the camera settings. I do have a Tenvis camera myself (which I no longer use) and I believe the default username was admin and no password to log into the web interface.
