Thats interesting thanks, my bitrate at the moment is lower at 6144Kbps on the 4MP camera which I think is default.
Im unsure if its the NVR or camera because the live stream always seems to work fine and its only during the transfer to a new recording file that this issue occurs.
Hi, I have a Hikvison DS7608NI-I2 8P NVR along with two Hikvision DS-2CD2042WD-I cameras. I have recently noticed that on one of the cameras that there appears to be gaps in recording. In the attached picture please see the gap between the end of the first ticked file and the start of the second...
Hi, just thought I would update as to what I have done and how the issues have progressed. Could be helpful for people in the future.
Whilst I still had the opportunity to return the DS-7608-NI-E2-8P I did and ended up getting an DS-7608-NI-I2-8P in the hope of some improvement in playback. I...
I have tried a macbook pro with maxed out spec, only 1 year old and a 5k imac with the same results (Problem 1).
I hooked up a monitor and downloaded the video to a usb stick and this did improve the playback along with using VSPlayer. Live view works well directly through the monitor, however...
Thanks for the advice, will defiantly try pinging the cameras and recorder. Streaming via UDP is an issue but the only way at the moment before a fix being released November time for me to view via OS X.
It’s made interesting reading seeing both your thoughts and experiences thank you! I will persevere for now on the issues I am having with this NVR but as Del Boy has said, sometimes enough is enough and I would possibly look to other options further down the line if there wasn’t any...
Ok will use wired. Just tried VSPlayer and working better with no distortion however still pauses and flickers between video and a black screen now. So frustrating.
Thanks for all your help though.
I've downloaded a few recordings and used VLC to view the video and they do play, however seems to pause and jump a couple of seconds and then some started to distort badly (pixelated and green overlay) I tried copying the video to my SSD to rule out memory stick speed issues and that made no...
Yes both cameras are connected via cat6 and the connection from the nvr to my gigabit switch is cat6.
So it's looking more likely to be a home networking issue rather than the nvr.
Thanks for the clarification.
Everything's connected using CAT6 STP Cable.
I've found using just the windows 10 machine a lot better. It may sound strange but at night the live preview seems to load a lot better than in the day.
