I've mostly switched from stunnel to ZeroTier that creates a virtual LAN with point-to-point connectivity. It's easy to set up and doesn't need any maintenance.
I don't use Smart Events but I own an old-style non-audio C800 turret (I91BF) and a new-style audio C800 turret (I91BM). I have updated both cameras to Hikvision firmware, 5.6.5 and 5.5.114 respectively. I don't recall what the original Annke firmware offered, but the updated non-audio version...
Thanks for the helpful post!
Here’s my experience:
C800 bullet (earlier model I91BD without audio) – Hikvision G1 platform - successful update via camera’s web page directly to IPC_G1_EN_STD_5.6.5_200316
C800 bullet (current model I91BL with audio) – Hikvision G5 platform - successful update...
Just a quick update - the version of Zero Tier that Teltonika includes with its package manager on the RUT devices is quite old (v.1.1.4 vs 1.6.3 latest) and I've noticed it sometimes going offline. This affects only the Teltonika management page, not the devices with ZT addresses routed through...
Yes. Each of Neorouter, Hamachi and ZeroTier allow you to access port 80 (or any other port) on your BI machine. ngrok requires you to specify https://, whereas the others provide secure access using http:// as they protect the network not just the connection. And ngrok requires you to...
I have both the RUT240 and and RUT950. I ordinarily run them as failover devices for Gigaset security monitoring equipment and they're setup as routers with their primary WAN being "wired" to a landline router. But I now need to temporarily monitor cameras at property without a landline, so I'm...
I’ve had a further look at VLAN solutions for CGNAT as I may shift my main system to mobile at some point, and I’ll have to live with CGNAT.
My requirements are that: the VLAN client on the BI Windows machine runs as a service that starts with Windows (as BI itself does); connecting a client to...
This is the precise scenario I've planned for in my case. Hence my BI computer BIOS is set to automatically reboot the machine after a power loss, and the essential software components (BI server and Neorouter server/client) are set as services that start whenever Windows starts, not requiring a...
Actually, why not give ngrok a go? It is the simplest to set up. Then you can access BI from your phone simply by specifying an https:// address that ngrok maintains until you reboot your BI machine.
I've got a couple of Annke C800's that work fine with BI. The camera is fundamentally a Hikvision DS-2CD2383G0-IU and accepts the Hikvision firmware updates.
It's probably best to get a feel for Hamachi using Windows devices first. You'll need to register for a LogMeIn account, then go to...
Thanks for the background info. Maybe you should get a feel using Hamachi, that is also free but the server runs externally at the LogMeIn end. So you don't need a public IP address anywhere. The hassle with Hamachi is that the VPN setup on your phone isn't via an app. But I have it and run it...
The easiest option is to obtain a Three SIM and specify 3internet as the APN, which gives you a public IP address so you can port forward to your BI server. But I want cheap and am using SMARTY who don’t provide a public IP address.
Hence Neorouter. To set it up, you’ll need one device on a...
