    Cams / NVR Arrived - Have I Made a Mistake :-/

It's late here - but I've managed to install one of the cams! :) There's no way I could have gotten this far without the help of everyone here. Thank you all so much :) I'll try to read as much as I can tomorrow, and attempt to install the other two cams.

    Cams / NVR Arrived - Have I Made a Mistake :-/

OK - plugged in each camera, one at a time, waited until each cam was registered & showing on Live. All three registered within a few minutes. Labelled each cam to its respective NVR port. I haven't changed any other settings yet. So I guess the next step is to get the cables made up, and carry...

OK - changed it to a static IP, clicked on 'Test', which was green-lighted, applied & browsed to the new IP with success. The gateway is set to 192.168.0.1. Do I need to change anything else?

    Cams / NVR Arrived - Have I Made a Mistake :-/

Nothing - then everything all at once!! A few notes: Turns out it's not possible to change my modem / router's default range from 192.168.0.x, it's fixed by the ISP who provide the (crappy) unit. So - following advice here, and elsewhere, I manually changed my MacBook's IP to 192.168.1.200...

    Cams / NVR Arrived - Have I Made a Mistake :-/

Yes, when attempting to change the 0 to 1 it's rejected. There's no app for the router that I'm aware of, but I'll check. The TV auto-detects resolution AFAIK, it did that on powering up the NVR to show the resolution. And again I'm wondering, why would it have no issue displaying 'NVR' on the...

Well, this is pretty hopeless then, I'm certainly out of ideas

And if the NVR isn't compatible with my TV, that's another downer. Would have been nice to have had that functionality.

    Cams / NVR Arrived - Have I Made a Mistake :-/

I just logged into my router, and attempted to change the IP Address, which it wouldn't allow me to do. This is all getting beyond me. I wasn't expecting these kind of issues, just to get the NVR set up :-/

    Cams / NVR Arrived - Have I Made a Mistake :-/

Just removed the other two ethernet cables from my router (printers), plugged into one of those ports. Tried again, nothing. If there was an incompatibility with my TV, would it be displaying 'NVR' for some time after power-up?

OK - removed HMDI cable, hooked up to my router using the enclosed Ethernet cable. Power up. Green ethernet port LEDs solid both ends, amber activity LEDs flashing. Go to 192.168.1.108, and this is the result using Safari & Firefox. Wait a few minutes, try again, same result.

    Cams / NVR Arrived - Have I Made a Mistake :-/

Just tried again. The only monitor I have that will link to the NVR (via HDMI) is my TV. It happily displays 'NVR' after power up. Yes, I have the mouse plugged the in, and the mouse LED lights up. Same result again. So, powered down, hooked up the HDD, and again the same, just this time no...

    Cams / NVR Arrived - Have I Made a Mistake :-/

Hooked the NVR up to my TV, plugged in the mouse, powered up. Power LED lights up, followed by 'NVR' displaying on the TV. Shortly after the cooling fan powers up, then 'NVR' disappears from the TV. Unit beeps at me (HD not connected) same time as the two remaining LEDs light up. Nothing else is...
