Is there a way to stop Blue Iris from triggering when camera switches to nighttime mode?

I'm still quite new at Blue Iris. Depending on if your cameras switch at a known time, or dependant on light, You could possibly create a profile that only lasts a minute or two, and have it set up to still notate triggers, but not alert out. It could be a pain to set though if you have your...

Dahuas lose custom bitrate upon reboot. Any work around?

I have found that with my Loryta(thought it was a dahua generic, haven't researched) as well as my LTS(Hikvision generics) with ROI enabled, it will surpass the max rate I have set with VBR (variable bit rate). One large region can be drawn over the whole frame, just monitor the bandwidth to...

Dahuas lose custom bitrate upon reboot. Any work around?

Wittaj, Is your custom bit rate a high one? Would the camera retain ROI settings after a reboot? It may be a workaround but would take some monitoring of bandwidth used. I'm still not familiar enough with ipcams. I'd assume that they would retain their settings. My only other generic thought...

    Front yard camera pole recommendations

You might consider looking into what your local fence supply dealers carry. When I built my side fences, I went with galvanized "2.5 in." pipe. It's actually 2.375, and was marketed as MT40 which isn't sch 40. It's closer to a sch 20 in wall thickness, but tests close to 40 specs. They're...

Dahuas lose custom bitrate upon reboot. Any work around?

Have you diagnosed what is causing the reboots? (Physical impairment, or setting somewhere) Please elaborate on your setup, NVR/PC with Blue Iris etc. I currently have my cameras connected to a POE switch that is on a UPS, and they only reboot when forced to.

Anyone know anything about the ROI tab? REGION OF INTEREST

I have been experimenting with ROI and bandwidth. I read somewhere on here that on Dahua cameras, selecting the whole frame for an ROI would enable the camera to go above the maximum bandwidth allocated. I have confirmed that it also works on my LTS (hikvision generic) cameras. I'm still...

Fiber optic couplers and other questions

For anybody who can offer real world experience, I've got 4 questions: 1. Is there any good reason to not break the cable run into 3 sections using pre-terminated cables and couplers? I expect insertion losses. A 300' run is really short for fiber, so I'm assuming I'd be able to easily...

Zone specific alerts to mobile on motion trigger

I believe "pushover" is just for the Blue Iris Tools "BIT" add-ons. I'm not in front of my pc with Blue Iris on it, but if I recall correctly. You'll want to go to the "Mobile Devices" tab on the settings page on Blue Iris. I was able to add a device tag to my phone, which was already listed...

Moving green fuzz at night with light on - help please

When you mention that it washes/travels, It leads me to believe that the lights are fluorescent or LED and flickering or pulsing faster than the eye can detect at 50/60Hz. Have you tried changing shutter speed to see if the pattern changes? I'm not sure if it would help, but are there any...

Moving green fuzz at night with light on - help please

Is that highlighting motion? I'm not familiar with the darkfighters, but my LTS cameras can display where they are detecting motion so that you can fine tune your parameters.

    Help with processor recommendations

I have them on VBR but am not in front of my pc now to log in. I believe I've throttled the 8mps down to 12288, and 6s maybe slightly lower. I really want to use the cams at their full potential though. It's holding steady for the most part with them backed off. Update - I'm currently running a...

    Help with processor recommendations

Thank you both. I don't know how I didn't realize that the two were hyperlinks. Perhaps I jumped the gun in assuming that I'd need the latest, almost greatest processor. I still need to research power consumption of the slightly older processors to see the break-even on it. I managed to...

    Help with processor recommendations

Hello all, I outgrew my standalone NVR before I ever got up and running. It's time to step up to a dedicated Blue Iris machine. I currently have: 2 8MP, 2 6MP, and 2 4MP LTS cameras. I'd like to run upwards of 12 or 15 fps, so that's put it at 432 - 540 MP/s. I've lowered framerates to keep...
