From the pics you've posted, it definitely seems the night vision is as good as the previous generation 4MP cameras. Obviously not as good at night as the new 2 and 3MP low light hik cameras......but then you would have to give up all that 4k goodness in the day if you went that route. I'm... -

DS-7608NI-E2/8P - won't power up some cameras
This sounds like a cabling issue. If the cabling or termination is bad, it wouldn't matter what camera is on the other end, or what port you plug the cable into. You will still have the same result where camera doesn't work. It sounds like you are bypassing the problem by putting a standalone... -

Agree w/ Zero above. I asked about the lighting earlier because I wanted to make sure it was a true representation on how this cam does in the dark. Need to get this camera alone to get a real reading on how it does in low light. It would be nice to see how it does both with and without IR... -

I'm also very curious as to how this camera looks at night......can't wait for you screenshots. Hikvision USA lists this DS-2CD2385FWD-I 8MP turret camera as Ultra Low Light, rated color at 0.027 lux @ F2.0. I wonder if they've really been able to add more pixels AND improve nighttime image... -

Question on 2 hikvision cameras
The 2342 is a 4 megapixel (MP) camera as opposed to the 2332 which is a 3MP camera. The aspect ratio of the 2332 is about 4:3 (like old TVs before HD), whereas the the 2342 will give you a picture about a 16:9 ratio (widescreen, HD). I am by no means an expert here, but from what I have picked... -

I have one like this too. DS-2CD2342WD-I. Is it possible to disassemble and correct the focus? Came from factory with very soft focus. I consider it unusable as it is.
