Upgrade to NVR or continue with NAS
Hi I've got two Hikvision cameras running on a Synology NAS (216 Play) using Surveillance Station. I'd like to add two more cameras but this would include an addition cost of £100 for the licence fees. Do you think this is the best way to go or separate it to a dedicated NVR such as a...- keeper

They are already in post 14 of the thread, although as a test i have now disabled UNP as suggested just to be sure. -

Yes, already turned the firewall off in the early days, also add blocker plug ins etc just to be sure, also tried it in Sarari and Firefox with the same results. No matter which port i set it to the port test tool always reports the used port as closed, and my working network cams as open. But... -

I've looked at the router, I can update its details and it appears in the port forwarding page. The routing table has no options to update any setting, you can only refresh the page. -

Yes uPnP turn on on both - disabled and rebooted but made no difference. The IP range is 192.168.1.64 - 192.168.1.253 I've also tried it on different IPs. The only thing i can see that may be wrong is I never see the camera in the IP4 routing table in the router? But i can connect to it and... -

Yes, tried turning everything off on the network and rebooted router, no change. The one conflict I found in the early days was my security system also used port 80 and I've moved both off the port. -

Those setting seem the same as mine but I can't connect from outside of the network or using DYNDNS direct to the camera, not sure what i'm missing? -

They have referred the issue to Hikvision but expect it to take a few days for a response, I said I would review with them on Friday with a view to returning if they can't resolve. I understand we all have our own networks and routers but i'd expect this to work out of the box with minimal port... -

Hi I tried that and its still the same, also using the setting and changing the port number wipes all of the network settings. If I look on the open ports test tool it reports - closed. I think this is looking like a firmware issue will call the supplier in the morning. Cheers.
