Has anyone ever setup a PIR networked or USB to trigger a camera and send an alert message? I have bee looking around and so far i have not found enough information to even purchase the needed equipment.

I do not have any affiliation with this company other than purchasing from them but (cables and kits) has a return and warranty policy that has been fantastic. I use the Catalyst 3750G 24 port POE for most Camera installations.

Your (router) should already be set to provide DHCP so connect patch cable from router to the POE switch then plug PC into POE switch use a patch cable and plug camera into POE switch (it does not mater which port you plug devices into unless you have a managed switch with Vlans configured) wait...
