Yea…. I agree. Might as well put in a smaller transformer. And, yes…the current one is dead. Not coming back to life I’m afraid.

From what I' gather here the transformer I have...24V 40VA should be fine with the a410 but the device itself may not be regulating properly. And Sabatiantombs stated above that he even swapped his 24 40 out for a 16V@30VA and still had problems. My question to those with experience or similar...

Thanks for your reply, Nate. I just checked my transformer......it is 24VAC 40 VA. My elctrician said that should be OK based on the spec sheet which states AC 16 ~ 24V. You mention a power regulator....I don't know what that is ......but i have an old style chime I believe like you...
