Suggestions for indoor wifi cameras with Blue Iris for occasional use when traveling

Thanks actran. You are correct that this is my preference to only access one system, especially when traveling. I have been using the amcrest and they seem tough to beat for the price... Still interested in other suggestions if any

Suggestions for indoor wifi cameras with Blue Iris for occasional use when traveling

I have a number of good outdoor permanently mounted POE cameras connected to my Blue Iris system. However, when we travel, I like to use some cameras in various locations of the house to keep an eye on the place and have eyes in case of a problem. To do this, I have used a few older Foscam Wifi...

Dahua SD49225XA-HNR step-by-step configuration and settings with BI and tracking

These settings are all in Blue Iris, not on the Dahua setting page. Right? I can't find them. Do you mind telling me in which menus I can find them. Thanks a lot

Dahua SD49225XA-HNR step-by-step configuration and settings with BI and tracking

Thanks Wittaj for this. Very helpful. Still working on tweaking quite a few things and learning. I have just added my cam to my Blue Iris install. It seems to be working ok except I don't know how to trigger Blue Iris with IVS alerts from camera. My other cameras are triggered within Blue Iris...

Dahua SD49225XA-HNR step-by-step configuration and settings with BI and tracking

I have received my SD49225 from Andy with the auto tracking firmware. Finally have time to unbox it and install it (both physically and on my Blue Iris). It has been a couple of years since I have installed new cameras. On top of it, this one has new (great) features including of course...

Thanks @bigredfish. Appreciate the help here. Ideally not only cameras but also how you set it up for power and internet connection.

anyone looked at "Flock Safety" or similar systems?

Hey @bigredfish any change since that useful post a couple of years ago? On a cul de sac and interesting in coming up with a similar solution for our neighborhood. Maybe one regular camera and one LPR. not sure we would have access to power nor resident internet. Would ideally need a self...

    VPN Primer for Noobs

It looks like it is only for Android, not iPhone. Is it right? Alternatives?

    VPN Primer for Noobs

Is there a way to force the Blue Iris iPhone app to start the VPN when you click on the iPhone BI icon? That sounds like a useful and basic option? If not, is there a way to program a "macro" that would start the VPN (OpenVPN) then start the Blue Iris mobile app? I would think an option in BI...

    VPN Primer for Noobs

Thanks Nayr for these great directions. One thing I can't find though. I use Blue Iris to connect to my cameras from my iPhone and it is great. Right now via port forwarding, it is immediate. going forward, I will use a VPN but I don't want any lag when I click on my Blue Iris icon nor do I...

Cheap indoor wireless cameras when away

Thanks to the great content of this forum, i have a pretty good coverage of the perimeter of the house. And i love my Blue Iris. However, i would like to have a few cheap indoor "portable" wifi cameras (ideally PTZ) that i could move around and install on a shelf when out of town for a few...

POE splitter to repair Mini PTZ 10x

It is actually premade cable although it may have been damaged during recent house wash... I will probably cut RJ45 and reterminate to see if it helps. Thanks for the suggestion.
