H265 selected on Camera, Blue Iris shows it at H264

I'm pretty sure I had restarted the cameras within Blue Iris, in addition to them having been restarted from their web interfaces too. I also know that I had actually stopped and restarted Blue Iris at least twice today while I was playing around with this stuff. My 8MP camera is now using...

H265 selected on Camera, Blue Iris shows it at H264

I believe it's changed now. I'm not 100% sure what actually fixed it, but I think it was after I deleted the camera from Blue Iris and then added it again. The reason I'm not 100% sure, is because prior to that I had downloaded and installed Pale Moon and went in and tried to save the CODEC...

H265 selected on Camera, Blue Iris shows it at H264

I'm very new to Blue Iris, and to IP cameras in general, and I'm trying to figure out why two different 4MP cameras are using drastically different amounts of storage during recording. The one camera that's using a lot of storage(Cam2) has been using up 4GB of storage to record about 28...

Looking for a setup to satisfy my wife's bird watching addiction

Here's some video I captured today, nothing too spectacular, but I'm still in the prototype testing phase.

Looking for a setup to satisfy my wife's bird watching addiction

Here's one from the IPC-5842 Absolutely. You can manually focus it on the glass that covers the lens/camera... and with some fiddling it will even auto focus at very short distances... these were taken 4" away from the 5842 This is what the full frame looked like ( zoomed in as far as it...

Looking for a setup to satisfy my wife's bird watching addiction

Well, I got my first IP Camera hooked up, doing some basic testing now. The 'auto' focus isn't really focusing that great, but with manual focus I'm liking the detail I can get from this

Looking for a setup to satisfy my wife's bird watching addiction

Yeah, well when I first started looking, I was looking at an NVR for around $700 and a Camera for $300 , so that's where I came up with $1000. Obviously if I can do it cheaper that's all good. I've been involved in computers and networking my entire adult life ( I mean like 38 years in my...

Looking for a setup to satisfy my wife's bird watching addiction

My wife bought some cheep bird feeder camera things a year or so ago , and she's become somewhat obsessed with it. She gets some decent pictures and video now and then and she's having fun however she's expressed interest in something better. She's not all that tech savvy and it can be...
