yes. It had always been enabled so tried to disable. No change also reduced the mic gain down with no change. you can still hear normal sounds faintly thru the hiss.
I have a HDW5231R-ZE that has been working fine for several years now, recently i get a constant hissing from the audio. Question is this a hardware failure and i should just disable the audio? Any other possible troubleshooting steps?

I can mount beside the ones in the first set of pictures, that is up in the soffit of the garage so easy install, didn't think about the headlights...good point. It is a dead end culdisac that direction, so i can get a good shot coming and going.
Until now i haven't really needed a close up on the street, i have 2 other overview camera's that catch the street. This camera is normally zoomed on my front porch/sidewalk. So might try one of 5442 as a addition for this project.
