Anyone here write ONVIF code? How does Dahua request an ONVIF sub-stream profile?

I recently set up an ESP32 camera for the first time... Lots of fun... but I immediately realized that ONVIF support would make it much more useful. Did you ever figure out your ESP32 ONVIF problem? If you're willing to share your code I would be happy to see how my LTS (Hikvision OEM) NVR...

Recommend a portable indoor-rated general use wifi camera with IR and ONVIF?

I have only tried autotrack with kittens and it didn't work at all. But I think it's looking for human shapes, not just any movement.

Recommend a portable indoor-rated general use wifi camera with IR and ONVIF?

Got this camera yesterday and I'm very happy with it, thanks again for the recommendation. Seems to have perfectly civil ONVIF compatibility so it was no trouble to hook up to my LTS NVR. I haven't tried RTSP yet but I am sure it will be no trouble. The various Amcrest apps and the software in...

Recommend a portable indoor-rated general use wifi camera with IR and ONVIF?

Thanks. I can use a very close minimum for some things I want to do but I realize I may not be able to get one cheap camera that does it all. I'm ordering this one for the new kitten room though, thanks again for the pointer.

Recommend a portable indoor-rated general use wifi camera with IR and ONVIF?

Awesome, thanks for clarifying! Edit to add @wittaj since you have that Amcrest... Can you tell me what the approximate minimum focus distance is?

Recommend a portable indoor-rated general use wifi camera with IR and ONVIF?

Thanks @wittaj! Looks like that one doesn't actually have auto track but this is the kind of suggestion I am looking for! This one does list autotrack for about the same price. The manual does mention RTSP so there's probably a way to hook it up to my NVR. However, the one you linked made a...

Recommend a portable indoor-rated general use wifi camera with IR and ONVIF?

I'm finding many occasions where I would like to place a camera temporarily, so I'd like to find a generic wifi camera that I can use with my existing LTS (Hikvision OEM) NVR. 1080p wide-angle would be fine, it doesn't need tons of megapixels. It should have good IR illumination built in. It...

What are the go-to cheap to midrange PTZ cameras today? My Huisuns still work, but... that can't last!

Based on the reliability reported over the years I assume that adds up to one working camera. :) I've been lucky with mine for sure.

What are the go-to cheap to midrange PTZ cameras today? My Huisuns still work, but... that can't last!

Thanks much for the reference. That's a substantial upgrade for sure! I do heavily use my back yard PTZ, 'cuz it's big and interesting animals show up a lot, so this looks super. I'll look for threads on this baby.

What are the go-to cheap to midrange PTZ cameras today? My Huisuns still work, but... that can't last!

I have 2 Huisun 10x PTZs, one V1 and one V2. They have both lasted years in Seattle weather. The only problem is that I think the long distance IR illuminator on the V2 bit the dust. They have been a lot of fun and I would like to figure out a replacement/upgrade path as I know they won't last...

VLC RTSP main stream from LTS (Hikvision) NVR freezes after a few minutes; substream OK

I can access a video feed from my LTS NVR with VLC and this kind of URL: rtsp:/admin: PASSWORD@192.168.1.15:8554/Streaming/Channels/502 Note the last digit: 2 is the substream and 1 would be the main stream: rtsp:/admin: PASSWORD@192.168.1.15:8554/Streaming/Channels/501 Unfortunately, after...

LTS (Hikvision) NVR & VLC: Can't see main stream via RTSP, only substream

HOLY SMOKES That worked! In the VLC Open Stream dialog there is a buffer setting in milliseconds... It defaults to 1000 ms. I changed it to 100 ms and I have a beautiful 2688x1520 picture!! Best forum followup ever, thanks @najman!

LTS (Hikvision) NVR & VLC: Can't see main stream via RTSP, only substream

I will double check that, but I am 99% sure my NVR only supports h264. However in related good news, my NVR maker has released new firmware which allows you to log in to the NVR and see video with a modern web browser--instead of relying on an ancient Internet Explorer plugin. So while VLC may...

Unfortunately, I never found a solution for this issue.

My notes on direct camera access look the same as yours--and it has never worked for me either!
