    Blue Iris version 5

Glad to see others have noticed this. I sent this request (as I'm sure others have as well) to support a week ago, got a reply back stating it was being sent to the developer and viola, an in-app popup notified me of this new feature. So glad to see a developer who cares and listens and...

Here is what I would personally try.... Shutdown all instances of BlueIris.exe (Service, console, etc....) Run the full installer for V5 Open V5 V5 should say it migrated your settings from V4 Reboot Open V5 again - Make sure all is well Uninstall V4 - Select Keep settings Check if the V4...

I believe BI stores its UI window position settings in this registry key below, so for the brave among you, you can always try backing up and removing just THIS key and letting BI recreate it (assuming it will do this). If the 2 or 3 .exe files are running under the details tab in task manager...

Check the details tab. It might be the window position in the registry got messed up during the update. See my previous post on registry backup/remove option.

If all else fails, try backing up (first) then removing the BI registry settings. Close all instances of the app, BACKUP BI registry paths below, remove registry paths, open app, and see if the window appears. Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Perspective Software...

Check task manager. Do you see BlueIris.exe and BlueIrisService.exe running? With nothing showing in the taskbar, these run in the background without anything else showing. With the app open (and taskbar icon in the right, I have another instance of BlueIris.exe (total of 2) running.

LOL. Agreed! IE was the "maybe it's my Chrome and all extensions I use are the problem" alternative. Chrome is my daily driver. IE is backup when Chrome fails. ;).

Thanks. That was exactly it. I downloaded UI3 from github, installed, problem solved!

It's normal for the UI to disappear when the service is being used. Check BI settings, startup tab and see if use system tray option is enabled. That is one way or make a link to launch as needed.

Do you still have BI4 installed? If so, may need to uninstall (keep settings) and then reinstall service from settings in BI5.

I just noticed that and you beat to this post. ;) Thanks. Also noticed several of the registry settings still point to version 4's folder. Even updating to the new 5.0 WWW root, the error below is thrown. The only way around this for me is to login with a hard coded URL... i.e...

Agreed. I already emailed support asking for an option to move it. ;) This new UI presents a problem for some of us using multiple monitors, especially via remote desktop, this pane is now visually farthest away and if monitors are angled, makes it even harder to see/use.

Also note.... If you had BI 4 setup as a service, you will need to set that up again in BI5 settings. Apparently that setting did not migrate over.

BI web-server is broken for me too. Using Chrome on both localhost and remote. BI webserver responds, but with 404 message. BI machine shows it's listening on Port 81 using loopback 0.0.0.0. Packet capture connecting to BI web server from remote machine: HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found Server...

You should be fine to install the full 5.0 version over the old version. Reboot if prompted. Open BI 5 and it will say you're good to delete version 4. Uninstall Version 4, but make sure to click NO on the prompt to delete stored settings. Just this on my BI machine, and all is well. Looks...
