    Keeping time set on Dahua?

It seems to work all the time. I use Surveillance Station so I have it configured to the IP of the NAS and 10 minutes and the camera keeps the time. Without the NTP setting it would drift too much.

    Got my Dahua 4MP IPC-HDBW4421R-AS 2.8mm

bp2008 is absolutely right, the camera seemed to have a red light that could be seen in the dark but close inspection revealed that it's the IR itself.

    Keeping time set on Dahua?

The NTP setting is in the web UI, in System, General, Date.

IPC-HDBW4421R-AS (SD, audio). The type with no transparent dome like the IPC-HDBW4421C is a turret. The Playback tab on the 4421R-AS only seems to be able to play from the SD card so it may not have worked for you.

    Dahua 4mp, 6mm turrets (IPC-HDW4421C)

I'm testing it now on my IPC-HDW4421C Chinese turret and it doesn't have the playback tab. I also have the dome version and it has the playback tab.

It's too bad you couldn't try the Dahua playback interface, the dome version of the Dahua 4MP you were looking at initially has the playback tab. I can't compare with the Hikvision playback because the Hik died after only a couple of months. I use a NAS with Surveillance Station 7, it's free...

If you don't want to use the IR it's possible. It's not possible to turn off the red light separately from the IR though. To disable the IR go to the Night profile and set Day & Night to "Color" instead of "Auto". Day & Night : "Black & White" = IR and red light On Day & night: "Color" = IR and...

Dahua Motion Detect, teach me something

Thanks, it's good to know that it works on the latest firmware!

    Dahua 4mp, 6mm turrets (IPC-HDW4421C)

Nice, it's more like it! The second pic looks similar to the results I get with the first setting that's meant for low noise, there's good detail and a lot of what can be seen during the day. I would fine tune from there. The drawback is that it won't be too good for motion (good for still...

    Dahua 4mp, 6mm turrets (IPC-HDW4421C)

It didn't seem to work, it depends too much on available light. The bright side is that you can definitely get a better picture, it's only a matter of finding the sweet spot. After hours of tweaking last night it appeared that Defog set to the minimum can help reduce noise. The last profile I...

    Dahua 4mp, 6mm turrets (IPC-HDW4421C)

I hope it will be useful, the night settings are tricky... I plan to add a camera in the opposite corner, this way both cameras will benefit from the IR. Bugs and spiders really mess up the motion detection, it also tends to record for hours during the night when that happens... That's why I...

    Dahua 4mp, 6mm turrets (IPC-HDW4421C)

Here's another Night profile. "Low Noise" reduced the noise but also reduced detail so I tried the manual exposure this time. I tried to get as much light as possible while keeping noise to a minimum. Brightness 50 Contrast 65 Saturation 0 Sharpness 55 Gamma 70 Exposure...

    Dahua 4mp, 6mm turrets (IPC-HDW4421C)

@wxman: The first WDR Off picture was from a different day, it's hard to compare. I'm also not convinced that the WDR in those 4MP Dahua and Hikvision is the same as expensive cameras but it seems to work and make a nice difference in my case. I adjusted the settings with and without and the...

    Dahua 4mp, 6mm turrets (IPC-HDW4421C)

Great, I'm glad that it was helpful! The second picture looks nice. WDR changes the picture too much to use the same settings for comparison. That's why it doesn't look right at first when trying WDR with normal settings. The WDR does seem to work, it does the same here as on your second...
