How odd! Mine doesn't do that, i wonder if it is to do with opening ports on my security gateway. I didn't think it would be as it was internal, but maybe that is the reason it isn't working. I'll make sure to keep you posted, thank you for your help so far.

SUCCESS. Sent export of each camera (connected laptop hardwired to NVR and started up SADP) to HikVision and they sent back another file to import and reset passwords. Job done. Thanks again for your help.

Aha....we have a bit of success. I have now wired the laptop to the NVR and SADP shows them all, managed to upgrade two of the cameras to latest version. But...the 2 problematic ones are saying "Failed to connect to the IP camera" - Any ideas on this? So close...

Agree - it must have done. But i am still left with the issue of " incorrect username password". Short of throwing the damn thing out I'm out of ideas!
