    Seems promising! I've had the exact same idea with my HiK cameras, due to problems with BI when it gets dark. If it is also possible to trigger the cameras to record via a http-command/trigger, BI could be closed completely to save cpu power.

    Have you checked that "Read Only" is disabled on all AI-tool related files? I had a few strange errors which went away after disabling "Read Only" on all files.
