Ok I've got news! As @alastairstevenson suggested, those are indeed the serial pins. I can connect to the serial console without any issue. I tried to update the firmware and it did it correctly. But the camera still won't reset! It's still in active state and its web page asks for username... -

Yes I tried both ways. It seems to be doing stuff (the ir led stays on for a while) but in the end the camera pops back up unchanged. -

Of course I didn't! Thanks for pointing it out! I would never have spotted it. Bad news is I'm now trying to short those 2 contacts but I can't get it to reset. I've tried to short them after powering the camera and while powering it on. The green led on the board goes out after about 20 secs... -

Tried again today and they were pretty quick to respond. They're asking €61 ($68) for a password reset. I may as well buy it new! This is so frustrating! -

Last time I tried they asked for my company details so that they could send a quote to do the job. First I'm not a company and second I was scared to know how much they'd charge me for a password reset. I get it that no one should work for free but I suspect they were gonna charge me a lot. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that's the case. A few days ago I flashed some hikvision cameras (not HiLook) using the same exact firmware that was already on (even the same build). All the cameras reset to inactive state. -
