    The Horror! Steaming Squirrel Hand!

This past Sunday morning, our deck camera captured some strange video. We thought it was creepy as hell. You decide. (The camera is an old Foscam FI8921, so excuse the poor quality.)

Dahua SD59430U-HNI Pole Installation - Long

The connectors are for the ac power, ground, alarm inputs/outputs, and audio in/out. I do have the ethernet connected normally. I needed to use the steel pole for strength, and resistance to sway. It can get pretty windy there. Thank you for your comments! David

Dahua SD59430U-HNI Pole Installation - Long

Thanks Chris. A better man could have easily dug a hole and fixed the pole in cement. I'm lazy and dumb really...lazy because I hate using a post hole digger, and dumb because I probably spent 10 times the effort doing it the way I did. The ground is really not bad at all. North Carolina...

Dahua SD59430U-HNI Pole Installation - Long

Continued from previous... Then, I completed the installation of the ground rod, conductor wires, ground bonding wire, and ethernet surge protector: The installation was a buttload of preparation and work, especially since this is at our "getaway" location in the mountains. Having...

Dahua SD59430U-HNI Pole Installation - Long

Now that I've had our new camera in place for a few weeks, I am posting my installation process. In a previous post, I had asked about installing the camera on a pole I installed our weather station. I quickly learned from others that the new camera is too heavy to enjoy a sway "free" install...

    Super Moon - SD59430U-HNI

Here are the settings that I tweaked enough to make me happy with the image. I'm familiar with photography, but not video. So, I just stepped through all of the adjustment settings I could find, and fiddled. I hope to learn more about the technical aspects of video tuning, but for now, I just...

    Bullet Mic Review

Hey Nayr, I bought the bullet mic from Amazon for my Dahua cam install. On the powering of the bullet, would it be safe to use a 12V 2.5A adaptor? I just had this power brick laying around that used to go with "something." Thanks!

Mounting SD59430U-HN on an existing pole...I need suggestions.

Internet/phone on one, and power on the other. They are about 10 feet apart, but connected together. So, I guess I'll get another. Thanks man.

Mounting SD59430U-HN on an existing pole...I need suggestions.

There are two six foot grounding rods in the ground behind my building. I am going to mount my camera pole a good 16 feet away. Should I pound another rod into the ground directly under the pole, or run the ground wire to the closest existing ground rod. (I wouldn't imagine lightning wants to...
