Absolutely. I used the Channel Vision B-204 to do exactly that this week. Long coax run, but I have six Hik turrets happily chattering away at max res (a mixture of 4MP/6MP/8MP). Between 20 and 30FPS. You'd never know that these cameras weren't cabled with CAT6. No glitches, no dropouts...

Hoping for some suggestions here on how to set up the network for a good level of protection from unwanted intrusion, but still manage to access from outside the home when needed. NVR : Hikvision 9664NI -i8. This model has two separate LAN ports, so I am assuming that can be utilized to help...

Hi, Am looking for a short pole with mount that will be screwed into a flat horizontal surface. Something like this, BUT with the ability to mount 2 or 3 cameras off it, pointing in different suggestions. Any ideas ?

Thanks - the RS232 port on the back definitely helped here for the original firmware flush. Now I need to find some good value cameras to get this system finished up. What are people using for outdoor 2.8mm domes on Hik systems ? Are the cameras in the store on this site a good choice ?

Couldn't resist - just upgraded the firmware to the latest (4.50). No problems at all - 30 seconds and done, first time.

Thanks - when I said 'hung up', I meant that it had given me a transmission error, and then timed out - never reconnected after the retry. I have a feeling it was something to do with the 'sleep' settings on my laptop, because after I plugged my laptop into mains power, the next attempt worked...

So - got everything hooked up and it connected. First time it got to 10MB and then hung up. Tried again and second time it got to 21 MB and hung up. Trying again now. Is this usual, or is it a sign that things are already bricked, or it's the wrong firmware ?
