Fair points, I see what you are saying. Well, apparently to run PoE through my house will take tons of additional wiring and require quite a bit of labor because it's a 2-story house. My partner doesn't want to see any cables inside or outside the house and the cost becomes too high to drill...
oh.. interesting take. I had no idea this was the case.
As far as limitations - I have a 2-story house and based on what the security guys said, it would take tons of extra wires to get it all done + quite a bit of work overall. I didn't think it was worth it.
The ones I looked at were...
So, some of you folks really helped me out in my previous threads with my questions about the PoE cameras I bought set but it didn't really work out due to construction specifics of my house so we are going to have to resort to wireless options.. I'd really appreciate your thoughts on a set of...
This worked like a charm! Guys, you all here are a treasure chest of knowledge! Really appreciate all of your help.
So my next step is to install the cameras outside. What's the consensus on where to set up the NVR in the house? The internet box with all the wires is upstairs in the laundry...
Yeah, apparently it's not online. I guess I may need to run to bestbuy tomorrow and get a VGA cable and pray it works. I've seen some threads where it didn't work for some people
welp.. I just ran into a very disappointing issue. I accidentally changed the resolution in the NVR settings to the highest and now my screens are black and I don't have a 4K TV to connect the NVR to to switch it back. Apparently my model doesn't have a factory reset button either (I just looked...
I'll get there! As much as I'd love to start using BI already, I think I need to get my knowledge straight about what I already have so I don't get confused moving forward. I really appreciate you all for your help!
wait, how did you get it to send you images via Telegram? I'd love that too!
oh no.. then I might hold off on buying their doorbell camera. Are there any solid doorbell cameras in the market that I could get to work in a single app on the phone?
It's all good, the kind people here have helped me already. An off-topic question for you, will I be able to add an amcrest doorbell to my Amcrest View Pro app so I can view the PoE cameras and the doorbell feed in the same app?
Ohh that makes sense, I didn't even think about. Now I am connected using the ip address. So I guess now the most logical question is : how do I protect my network from bad actors? Although I don't plan on installing any cameras indoor, I wouldn't want anyone to get on my network and watch the...
Hey everyone,
So I finally bought my set of Amcrest PoE cameras and am currently sitting at my desk trying to test it. Just playing with 1 for now to get a feel of how it all works.
I have plugged it into the NVR using an Ethernet cable, connected the NVR to my modem, didn't do much custom...
