Based on advice here I'm setting up Blue Iris. It seems a lot of times onvif is recommended. But Blue Iris has a dahua setting. Which is preferable?

fair enough. I used to be a computer nerd but my info is far far out of date. If the case only has one slot for a hard drive, is there some sort of bus I can set up to use external drives? Or connect it to a synology? You've pretty much convinced me to try it
