Turns out it was the DirecTV remote. Any time someone was in the guest room, certain buttons would also work with the NVR and attempt to login, cause a failed login and trigger the alarm. Something as simple as changing the volume with the remote would cause it. Covering the front of the NVR to...
It's a new router and I haven't opened up any ports, but I'll double check. Now that you mention it, I did see a failed login attempt on the 888888 account the other day but figured someone just hit the mouse. It's in a guest room, so it would be easy to do. Appears I have some sleuthing to do...
Nothing besides motion that I see. Mostly it's the wife that's heard it, so I'm going off what she's telling me. Just can't figure out if I'm missing something.
Been trying to find the source for seemingly random beeps from the NVR. I'm only running 2 cameras right now and auto maintain has been disabled on NVR and cams. Seems to happen at random times. This morning the wife heard it at 7:08, and it was just a few days ago at around 10:30pm. I don't...
Not quite sure how to read their datasheet. They have two columns: "system power consumption" at 9.66 watts and Power Consumption: Case (with PoE) at 143.89 watts. Do I only care about the high number?
Can get a managed SF302-08MPP for about $150 all in. Gigabit uplink. Am I better off going that route or just a normal 8 port 10/100 Bv Tech PoE switch with uplink for half the price?
building out a Dahua system and no POE in the NVR. Not sure if one is a better option.
nayr, that looks intense! I guess you can say there is passive cooling in the closet, AC return in the closet with a vent through the door, so every time the air is on, it will pull through there. I don't anticipate getting too crazy with equipment in there, but I guess we've all said that at...
I'm thinking of moving some standard home networking stuff into a hallway coat closet and am wondering what other folks have done, or wish they had done, when they set theirs up. I just started thinking about this, so no formal plans as of yet. Doing some other electrical work at the house...
Just found this site and am trying to take in as much as I can. In the planning stages and the NVR may have to go in a bedroom. Is this a bad idea, noise-wise? Are the NVRs without integrated POE ports quieter? I'd like an 8 channel nvr and am unsure of which way to go. Any input will be much...
