    Can't update: BlueIris.chm failed

I renamed the chm file as you suggested. Now the update chokes but says "Update of C:\Program Files\Blue Iris 4\BlueIris.exe failed (5)--make sure it is not in use". Thoughts? (Thanks for the continued suggestions, fenderman)

    Can't update: BlueIris.chm failed

    Restarted just now...same issue :-(

    Can't update: BlueIris.chm failed

Yes, I tried that earlier in the week...no luck. And, I just did it now...still no luck :-) I was hoping I was doing something stupid (haven't ruled that out yet). Any other thoughts? I suppose the last suggestion would be to reinstall BI.

    Can't update: BlueIris.chm failed

Thanks for the suggestion. I downloaded the update (update64.exe), clicked on it, and the same issue occurred. I checked Task Manager and BI was not running (although BiUpdateHelper was).

    Can't update: BlueIris.chm failed

I am having difficulty upgrading Blue Iris from 4.5.8.5 x64 to the current version (4.5.8.1). Was having this same difficulty earlier in the week (before 4.5.8.1 was posted), so I don't think it is a problem with the actual update file. I am running Blue Iris Update Helper. When I click on...

    Layout Question

hltljohn's suggestion did it. I unselected "Solo selected camera" and was able to dag-drop. Thank you so much! And, thanks as well, DLONG2, for the grouping suggestion...I may also end up doing that, too.

    Layout Question

I searched on "camera layout" but didn't see an answer to this question. I have 14 cameras and use 1:3 4-up for my Layout. Can I select which 4 cameras will be enlarged in the 4-up layout? Whenever I try to "drag" a camera to the 4-up layout, it simply selects that camera. I do have one of...

    BlueIris memory leak?

I have the Intel HD Graphics 530 running on a Dell OptiPlex 5040 (i7-6700). I rolled back to the 20.19.15.4531 driver and haven't had a problem since (several weeks). RAM is consistently around 2.2Gb.

    BlueIris memory leak?

I started having the memory leak issue a couple days ago. Had to reboot my system (Dell OptiPlex 5040 with Intel HD Graphics 530) twice. I tried to roll back the driver listed on this thread, but it balked because I had a Dell-specific version of that driver installed. So, I downloaded an...

    IPC-HDBW2320RP-ZS Problem: Can't Connect

Well, I think this is getting stranger and stranger. I connected it to a laptop with Config Tool installed. Used 12v power supply. Config Tool was able to detect it (192.168.1.108). I clicked on the "i" icon under Operate, and it brought up the camera's information. But, when I clicked on the...

    IPC-HDBW2320RP-ZS Problem: Can't Connect

Thanks for the suggestions, Gerry. I tried 12v instead of PEO (and ran the cable straight to the switch bypassing the injector). Still can't see it in Config Tool. I had tried the reset button earlier. I did it again (holding for more than 10 seconds) after switching to 12v. Heard the whirring...

    IPC-HDBW2320RP-ZS Problem: Can't Connect

I recently purchased the IPC-HDBW2320RO-ZS, installed it, and tuned the lens. I then unplugged the Ethernet cable and later plugged it back in. BI lost the signal. Am not able to detect it in Config Tool (on default IP address or any others). The cable and POE injector is fine (I tried it with...

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

So there isn't a reason to buy any other camera (not talking about pro series stuff)? Again, I'm just trying to understand if there are situations when this isn't the optimal camera. Doesn't sound like there is. Now if only Andy would start taking orders on them again! (Andy's storefront...

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

Jack B Nimble had me thinking "What situations would the IPC-HDW5231R-Z NOT be good for?". Obviously, not if you need a PTZ. If you didn't need low-light and were certain of the lens size, you could save a few bucks and go with a lower-cost non-varifocal camera. What else?

Setting up a VPN: FiOS Actiontec Router; Win10

Given Nayr’s excellent “VPN Primer for Noobs” manifesto, I want to forego my earlier planned port forwarding approach and implement a VPN solution (thus reducing the amount of port forwarding). Am looking for any pointers on what I am planning. I hope this is the most appropriate forum to post...
