    Newbie exploring Asecam

I had a few "headscratchers" 1: Using linux mint i could not get VLC to show the streams. Turned out to be a possible "Copyright/Licensing issue in the RTSP soucecode". Debian is allergic to "Non Opensource", so they & Ubuntu simply disabled RTSP in their packages. Solution : Use the FlatPack...

    Newbie exploring Asecam

My Asecam Cams are behaving quite well. I skipped the useless China NVR, and installed BI (see other thread). Wo. the China NVR & cloud support, the cam is dumb ... AKA. no human detection, and motion detection is triggering often - Cloud/Sun change etc ... But as a basic streaming cam i have...

New BlueIris Setup - I have some questions

Thnx :) Well i already made a BI user But initially M$ wanted it to be a "Real account" w. e-mail & all. I fiddled a little , and "somehow" got it to make a "local user". Gave it a UID/PWD , and then changed the role to administrator. Entered the UID/PWD in the BI "Run as a service" popup...

New BlueIris Setup - I have some questions

@bp2008 Thanx for the help button hint ... And the helpfile is actually quite good :) I'd like to run BI as a service ..... Should i use my "login admin user" , or create a separate BI Admin user ? I'd prob. prefer a separate BI Admin user if it doesn't FSCK the system up .... I haven't used...

Which Router to buy in 2023? UPDATE went with OPNsense on a firewall box.

I'm using pfSense too. I have 2 x "Chinese Qotom i5 - w. Quad Intel 211 NIC's" , home & summerhouse. And have 8 "Chinese Qotom i3 - w. Hexa Intel 211 NIC's" at work. I was a "happy" user up until a few month ago, when they decided to go back on their promise: That pfSense+ would be free for...

@Swampledge .. Thanx for the info I found a Dell 5070 w an i5-9500 & 32GB Ram & 500GB SSD for $255 Not that bad ... Seems to have room for a 3.5" too Same TDP (65W) as the i5-6700 Well ... After some consideration (And Andy writing that the Dahua might not like my cams) I think i might give...

    Camera newbie - Want's a cloudless setup

So it's not the annual cost of BI that should prevent me ... Agreed. Well the i7-6700 that is mentioned in @Sybertiger's sig. , has a TDP of 65W, then you have to add Ram + Mobo usage. Here's a snip from the 5216-EI DS - "Less than" 10W (excl hdd) - That's going to be hard to beat even...

Any info about Front panel for common NVR/DVR?

Maybe you'd need something like 4k7 pullup or down on either row or col lines. Have you tried to measure if any of row or col are already pulled up in the MCU (prob 3v3) or down (gnd) ?
