Q-See Closing Doors Jan 31st 2021 No More Remote Viewing, Options to fix

I just noticed it's BNC not IP. mat200 knows better than me but I believe you have to start over with IP stuff. I just threw all my Q-see BNC cameras and NVRs in the trash.

Q-See Closing Doors Jan 31st 2021 No More Remote Viewing, Options to fix

You need to use a different app such as DMSS. One of my NVRs is a Q-see and it's working fine through any app other than Q-See view. if tried a bunch but like DMSS.

Yes, I bought a new NVR from Andy then figured out how to use openvpn so now I have two NVRs with a total of 27 cameras working.

    Mobile App

I use DMSS with my android phone, no issues. It accesses two NVRs. I use OpenVPN when away to see the cameras.

Yes, I use DMSS. There are a bunch that work. It's not the app that allows remote viewing so pretty much all of them work. You have to set up a home VPN through your router like Open VPN. Read the entire thread or search for "open VPN"...

    Replace failing hard drive

Yes, you can clone one drive to another but cloning is not just using copy command. The assumption I made is he had only one drive installed and need to replace it. If he installed a second hard drive he could clone then unplug/ remove the old one. When it clones it still creates the image...

    Replace failing hard drive

In order to restore an image/clone to a new drive, it must be created first. When I change/upgrade my C: drive I create an image/clone to a separate hard drive either internal or external. Change out the old hard drive, and point rescue disk to the new drive's location so it can write/restore...

    Replace failing hard drive

In order to use macrium you must create a "rescue disk" from within the program to use as a boot disk. I use a cd and make a new one every update. I think you can also use a thumb drive. The computer must use this to boot into. From there it will search for an image to restore. Did you...

    Replace failing hard drive

I swear by macrium. I've been using it weekly for many, many years. Really easy to replace a hard drive. Remember, it's not if a hard drive will fail but when.

Also, per Andy, resetting the NVR worked for me.
