Not really, there are many different models of Hikvision NVRs available. Here's an interactive comparison table from a website I work with: http://www.vueville.com/home-security/cctv/nvr/buyers-guide-network-video-recorder-nvr/

    Suitable NVR for my setup

One area where my current QNAP NAS NVR does max out gigabit ethernet is when I review multi camera footage at 16x speeds. So this is something to consider as well. Of course you would have the same issue with WiFi. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk

    Suitable NVR for my setup

You should be okay. Powerline speeds do fall off quite a bit with distance and hopping ring mains. Even so, you should get at least the bandwidth required for 3 cameras. I don't have this set up but there must be others on the forum who do use powerline networks for IP camera traffic. Sent...

    Suitable NVR for my setup

Powerline networking is a mature technology. However, the advertised speeds are usually the total bandwidth (split between upload and download), are terribly optimistic and achieved speeds depend very much on the wiring in your home. At the moment, with the fastest 1200Mbps (advertised/claimed)...

how to send snap shot from camera to FTP

In the past I have successfully configured my 2032 to upload snap shots to my website. I didn't stick with it because my hosting provider had upload limits (shared hosting). Will look for a screen shot of the settings. Sent from my SM-A500 using Tapatalk

RasPipC - Cameras on your TV made Easy.

Hi thanks for the reply. The DPI scaling is the default that Dell has set to make text legible on such a small screen at this high resolution I guess. If it's difficult to make the elements responsive, of course I can always zoom out [emoji2] Just wondering though wouldn't this sort of scenario...

Hi I am running 1920 x 1080 (double -checked). Its my bad really, the screen shot software I use didn't capture the taskbar, here's a full screen screenshot at 100% zoom.

Thank you for this super project. Some feedback on the webUI: at 100% in Chrome on my 1080p screen, the view does not resize to fit and scrollbars appear vertically. Zooming out to 90% gets rid of the scrollbars and the views fit perfectly.

Definitely try setting up email alerts individually on each camera. I made a step by step walkthrough for Hikvision together with GMX here

    Hikvision Product Comparison

Hi, using a VPN for remote access instead of port forwarding the cameras is an involved process and took me some time to get working as I wanted. You need a device on your network which will act as a VPN server. This could be a PC running 24/7, a router, or a NAS. I didn't want a power sucking...
