I have 16 Dahua cameras and all have tripwire working very well. I cannot seem to get these to work with tripwire. What am I missing here.

Need a lot more info.
So you can’t get 5442-ZE to “work” with tripwire?

nvr? Is it set to record IVS?
Show camera IVS rules pic
Did you set IVS on the camera itself?
Have you walked in front of it and tested?

Ivs is set on NVR as are all the others except pTz's. All rules are set in event ivs and smartplan is turned on. I rebooted camera and at least it is working some. I just didn't know if with the AI equipped camera if there was something else to pay attention to outside the normal settings.

Thank you

You should set all that up in the camera itself. Use the NVR just for the recording and alert notifications.

Sometimes setting it in the NVR gets back into the camera, and sometimes not.

I have always used the nvr for this. But if I can't get it to work like the others, I will redo everything in the camera.

So playing around yesterday the camera started tracking ( Box around object ) and doing well, today nothing. Set everything up on camera so we will see. I remember now why I liked the setup in the nvr, I could see what tripped it on play back because the tripwires showed in the play back.

setup everything on camera. Can see tripwires. The tracking box that usually surrounds object never shows up. This is only with the two new cameras, all others working fine.

Your min/max size values are a mess. Likely part of the problem.
Set max to full screen size, min to 0-0

Draw a single tripwire line from extreme top right of the screen to the very base of that object standing in the corner on the left. That will cover the screen door.

Then draw a second tripwire from the middle white beam directly to the bottom of the screen in front of the entry door. That will cover that door.

Example

Thank you
I will give that a try.
Any reason the tracking box doesn't show up at all ?

I've had various firmwares treat the tracking boxes differently. Different colors and functionality. At the end of the day, for most residential owners it really doesnt matter. The thing to look for is the tripwire being tripped and flashing red when activated. The tracking boxes are really meaningless on fixed cameras.

Made the suggested changes and it might trip 10 percent of the time.
All my other camera trip about 90 percent of the time.
We go in and out that door all day because of new puppy.

Hmmm odd. Try intrusion boxes. I tend to overlay both and get 95% + success at multiple locations

You did adjust the min/max size right?

I suppose it could be a firmware issue...?

Example using tripwire and intrusion together, I get great results
IVStripandintrusion1.jpg

No h.265
No smart codec
Period is set to 24/7
You already changed the min/max size..

How are you verifying rule activation? Do you have smartpss? You can view it live and see if the rule line is flashing red when tripped. Look in playback and see colored hash marks for IVS events?
I wouldnt rely on DMSS app notifications myself..

I only use smartpss for virwing live and no setups in it.
I like using nvr because the trip wires show up in playback.
They do not if setups are on cameras.
But it still logs on playback with orange bar. At work so can't give examples now.

Yes I only use SmartPSS for live view and playback/download. It also shows IVS live and playback and on the timeline. Much easier IMHO than the NVR interface.

Yes smartpss is setup to auto login for my wife and kid so if the pc goes down they can bring cameras back up with no options but viewing.
I've had this nvr for a few years and have upgraded several cameras and not had trouble until now. I have never upgraded firmware in fear of problems or bricking nvr. Maybe it's time to suck it up !
The dahua is a NVR5216-16P-4KS2E and will just have to search for safest firmware upgrade.
A buddy of mine wants it and some of the 2mp cameras I am updating now.
Maybe I should buy a new NVR5224-24P-4KS2 for the new stuff, let him have the old system witch he know I haven't upgraded.
