Thank you for this video. Learned of the new DB1C coming out. It is a 1080p Cam but supports 256Gig SD and H.265 (Which is a great compression)

Where did they put the PIR sensor in the middle? Not needed anymore? All software now?

I been helping families and friends installing DB1. I noticed in their manual book and updated app, it mentioned about the free 3 hours cloud service.

One other change EZVIZ did on is to add a sticker of DB QR barcode and password on the front of the manual now. No need to take DB off to rescan or check password if you forgotten it anymore. They add it to the sticker and stick it on the cover of manual now.

So I am sure after so many calls of owners not being able to give them requested info they did this.

Actually I had that sticker on the manual when I bought my DB1.

Here with the NSC-DB2 there is a sticker on the box and manual. I might have installed a spare sticker on the manual. That said I did have issues reading the fine print next to the sticker so I wrote it on the NSC-DB2 manual in large letters. That and originally went from phone to tablet to TV running with Android bringing the NCS-DB2 inside of the home with directly connected transformer.

I think what is new is them including the password on the manual. My LaView had QR code on the manual too.

Yes, I had the pw too. I can show it, since in my case this is the pw of the replacement DB1 that doesn't work, I had to use the old pw of the original DB1 that got replaced. :)

Kewl, so shouldn't the QR code be universal, product specific?

This is the content of that QR code: www.ezvizlife.com C64132996 AESLLJ CS-DB1-A0-1B3WPFR

That is: url, s/n, verification code, product code.

I was doing this manually and couldn't read the sticker unless I used a magnifying glasss. ;)

I configured it through the mobile app, it asks you to point the smartphone to the sticker to get the QR code, and you don't have to type anything, it basically reads all thos parameters from the QR code. :)

Yes did it that way too with Android following the documented process. With other tinkering devices have just taken a picture of the QR code and written a document for said device. IE: playing with two open camera boards (Hikvision) with tiny little stickers on them. The stickers are about 1/4 the size of my finger nail.

Doing similiar these days with updating WiFi devices firmware with Tasmota or Espurna.

Off the main topic tinkering with two Gosund WiFi dimmer switches which resemble a typical dimmer switch over here in the US. For JTAGing here though initially wire to pads (RX, TX, VCC and Ground) or lately using the OTA methodology.

I kept playing though with the doorbell on the work bench with a power supply connected to it and typically keep all tablets / phones off in the house.

With QR barcode, all digital manufacture is trying to do away with manual and support. They know majority of their customers don't RTFM and they are trying to use app to guide customers step by step process of installing and setting up their products with little or zero involvement from customer / tech support service. This is why many of the products now come with a card inside the box stating first to download the app and follow the step by step in the app.

Understood @TechBill

I am old fashioned here and am not tethered to my tablets / cell phones and over engineer my CCTV / Security and automation long math style. This is low on the WAF.

Have not used any of the new cloud based WiFi devices here in their sold by MFG state. Rather replacing the firmware here with Tasmota / Espurna firmware.

FYI - In the last week I opened my EZVIZ app to connect to my EZVIZ doorbell and it warned me that if I continue to access my cam from the EZVIZ app that access from other programs will STOP and that I had to chose which app I wanted to use and stick to it.
