Thanks Andy,

This will be my first firmware upgrade on my new 5216-16P-4KS2E NVR. Do I need to default the NVR after the upgrade? (similar to what I did with the cameras) - thanks!

I already have this firmware found a dahua website which had the file uploaded (it's from October).

When remote open nvr webpage
(port forwarding for port 80)

the camera live view works OK

Camera web link configurations don't work.
They open internal IP of camera.

I reported to Dahua asked them to make it possible to access this remotely.

Just update it directly and make a default after finish the updating, no need to make default before updating.
Don't pull off the network cable or power off duing the updating, or else will brick.
If buy from us from 2019, can update without any problem.

@EMPIRETECANDY Bought my NVR5416-4KS2 from you Jan 1 2019. What version do I have? 1.0 or 2.0?

I have a new NVR-5216-16P-4KS2E and was wondering the same thing. I believe it is referring to hardware version. It can be found in the NVR menu, I believe it was under maintenance. Not sure what the differences are between hardware versions 1 or 2. I automatically thought I had the version '2' since I just received mine few weeks ago. Guess not.

Device Model NVR
Record Channel 16
Alarm-in Port 4
Alarm-out Port 2
Hardware Version V1.0
Web Version V3.2.7.132796
ONVIF Server Version 19.06(V2.6.1.869049)
ONVIF Client Version V2.4.1
System Version V4.001.0000003.1, Build Date: 2020-08-13
Security Baseline Version V2.1

Mine does not have a hardware version see below.

Device Type:DHI-NVR5416-4KS2
Record Channel:16
Alarm In:16
Alarm Out:6
SN:XXXXXXXXXXXX
Web Version:V3.2.3.111175
Onvif Version: V2.4.1
Security Baseline Version: V1.4
System Version:V3.216.0000006.0, Build Date: 2019-02-23

The version 3 firmware does not report the hardware version.

I can offer than I'm running V4.001.0000000.3, Build Date: 2020-05-19 on my v1.0 5216-4ks2. This would beg the question if May 19 is early in the year, which I could argue either way ad infinitum.

I'm reluctant to go further without sounding like I'm critical of Andy, which is absolutely not the case. His command of English is pretty darn good. However, communicating these specific details to an English speaker takes a native English speaking nitpicker nerd. I was scared going to the version I'm running and accepted the risk of bricking the NVR. I'm scared to push my luck again. I guess the best case would be for the English speaking nerd to do a Vulcan mind meld with Andy. Short of that we have to do the best we can to help each other.

Thanks! I am still at DH_NVR5XXX-4KS2_MultiLang_V4.000.0000000.0.R.20190713 2019-07-13 and expect V4.001.0000000.3, Build Date: 2020-05-19 is a significant jump.

Andy's grasp at the English language is so much better then some of the people I work with daily in the USA.

If I had to speak Chinese, any of the dialects, I am sure NO one would be able to tell what I was saying! :banghead:
