Mini-Review - EmpireTech LPR413-Z3

Would this camera capture out to 120' or so? I have a 437 and would like to get this to grab plates from the other direction.

At night, not a chance.

During the day you may be able to make out most of them with some digital zoom at 120 feet.

Thanks much. Would that other camera you reviewed, can't think of the name, reach out to 120 feet? Think it the 3rd version of the camera. I know it doesn't do ANPR capture, but if it would capture the 3m plates better, it would be a win.

Yeah the Z12E with the new chipset will reach that far even easier than the previous Z12E

Does anyone still have this camera in use? I'd really like to see what night captures look like at say 70', 80', 90'.
Doing new measurements and thinking, I MIGHT be able to set this up around 75-80 feet.

This LPR413-Z3 looks like a more specialized version of the B54IR-Z4E-S3. Both with 1/1.8 4MP image sensors and a 8-32mm optical zoom lens. What changes required a different housing?

This camera actually reads the plates and logs them, so the processor is bigger to perform that and it has internal storage to store the plates.

It also has more capabilities like being able to open gates and what not.

It also has a speaker.

It has 4 larger lights that can do infrared or white light.

All of that means it needs to be larger to contain all the extra stuff.

That makes more sense, it has the processing ability and storage built into the unit, and does not require an special NVR or system running on the network just for LPR data logging. Not sure if I skimmed over that part or if it's not a prominent detail in your review. That is really cool it doesn't require a special NVR or a machine with LPR software on the network.

We throw LPR around quite a bit and that is for the cameras like the ZE and Z12E that we have to manually read the plates or use a 3rd party platform to do the reading, whereas an ALPR or ANPR camera like this one has the built-in capabilities to read, store, and log the plates. These cameras will be larger due to the extra capabilities.

Yep, looks like the newer ones are at 850nm. I'm guessing it picks up the new 3m plates better?

As for your data sheet :idk: The one I'm looking at states 10-50mm lens. Are you looking at the international or USA web site?

Here are 3 captures from the camera. The first two are in total darkness at 2am with zero ambient light. I do have 2 external IRs though. And have the camera IR off . Understand that these are snaps that the camera sends to a conputer on my network in addition to the live video i can review from my NVR. The picture file name contains tbe license plate number that the camera has determined it to be. I can search for any plate in that folder, even Search for a plate starting with the first two or three numbers or letters. It's so much better than my regular camera that I set up to capture plates manually.ANPR-00-286-BC28455.jpgANPR-31-608-W203909C.jpgANPR-29-516-CBD3438.jpg

@wittaj Hey, do you by any chance know if there is an option to include License plate number when camera uploads snapshot to FTP? ( I know the full size ITC cam does ITC237)

I have the camera and yes, part of the file name is the license plate number. On my desktop there's a folder with all the days and dates and snapshots and you can search by license plate number if you want.

Thanks. Testing IPC-B74IR-Z4-AI right now, ANPR captures are good and License plate # is embedded in OSD but can not put it in the file name. Was trying to make a central database that collects data from 2 cameras

I was just looking at it, because I don't recall being able to select the (parameters) to use in the file name. I don't think you can. You select the main folder where you want the snaps, and within that main folder will be a subfolder by date (2024-07-11). Within that dated subfolder will be an hourly folder (00 is 12am). Within that folder will be a folder with the minute of the snap. (21 ) etc. a snap in those folders above would have beenntaken at 12:21 am on 7/11/24 if that makes sense.

so now the actual file name of the above photo in the 21 folder is named ANPR 32-744- (haven't been able to decode that part of the file name) BG55972 where bg55972 is the plate. Assuming of course it was read correctly! Hope that helps.

Yea my ITC237 has these options to pick from (not web5 interface)

Was hoping lpr413 has similar setup. Or at least License plate is in the file name.

Can not use ITC237 because of the size constraints. So got IPC-B74IR-Z4-AI from Andy. But it looks like the file name tags are limited and do not include License plate 1722908419570.png
