To the person's credit...first pic was from someone on local Facebook group. 2nd pic is my weather camera. Suppose to see mountains along that tree line. Nope.

It was getting pretty bad in Verdi (10 miles west of Reno). Was advised by fire offical's you might want to put together the 'Oh shit' bag. Photos don't convey how bad it got. First one a normal sunny day, the second one two days ago. For far, things looking good, prevailing winds blowing fire east.smokeclear.jpgsmokeb.jpg

prevailing wind are usually west to east. when it started, if it was blowing north to south, might have been screwed. area difficult to fight a fire. would have come straight at us. Was up on Pevine today, air almost unbreathable.
