When trying to access the web server from LAN, I have no issues connecting with all other devices and computers except one computer.
I keep getting..."Access to 192.168.1.11:81 was denied. You don't have the user rights to view this page." HTTP ERROR 403

I have tried release/renew IP.. restarting the PC.. using different browsers, but none of that helps.
Anything else I can try?

Check and see if that computer is on a different IP address range, like a guest wifi instead of the regular wifi.

Then check to see if maybe the problem computer has the network set to public and the rest are set to private (or vice versa).

It is probably either on a different network or the group configuration is off.

I checked that, and it's on the same network (192.168.1.1) as all my other computers... and it's set to Private.

oh I found what the problem was..
Under Web Server/Advanced... the IP for that computer was inside the "Limit Access by IP address".
Who knows why that got in there haha... but, now that I deleted it from there, I now have access!

Likely auto banned because you entered the wrong password too many times from that system.

OK guys...
Back again.. having an issue not being able to access blue iris from outside LAN. When I run the Web Server Wizard, I go through all the pages with green checks except the last one. I'm stuck and not sure what I need to do.
I've checked settings to make sure LAN only is not selected. I've also forwarded the IP of the Bi computer to port 81 as well, but Im still unable to pass this last step.

I would suggest that you use a VPN rather than opening ports which is what you are doing using the BI server wizard. A lot of routers, Asus and Netgear for two, have a VPN built in. Client software does need to be installed on the remote devices and a config file, generated on the router, needs to be installed as well. Once that's done it is just like being on your local network, but encrypted and far more secure.

VPN Primer

oh ok. This router has a built in vpn. I will do some research to see how to set it up. Once the vpn is setup and going, does that mean that all devices connected to the router will go through the vpn to access the web? or can I have just certain devices use it?
Also, wouldn't the vpn's, specially the free ones slow down the speeds?

This is a VPN to bring you back into your home network when you are away, so the only time it is being used is when you are away and want to access the cams.

You are thinking of the paid VPN service that hides your IP address for illegal video streaming and porn downloads LOL.

You will need a DDNS as your WAN IP address is subject to change at anytime by your ISP (although most do not change often) or you are paying for a static IP address. You can create this in your router.

OpenVPN is simple, but we make it way more difficult than it needs to be lol.

I was there too once with OpenVPN...tried to do all this research to find directions and got to the point I said screw it and just enabled it and kinda of followed what it was asking and it worked.

Just go to OpenVPN and enable it and see what it says - probably asks you to create a user/PW, DDNS name, encryption method, and create certificate. Then email that certificate to you and save the certificate on your mobile device. Then install the OpenVPN app and select the certificate and then connect and you are on your home network.

It really is simpler than our minds make it out to be.

In the past 3 days I have read through literally hundreds of pages of comments relating the issues that some Blue Iris users are dealing with in their effort to connect to the B.I. webserver through their local network. I have always been able to get in but not this time. I have a new install of B.I. 5 on a Windows 10 Pro system dedicated to B.I. I get all of the proper responses and green check marks when I run the Web Server Wizard. I can ping my 192.168.xxx.xxx:81 B.I. system PC and it is seen by "Canyouseeme' and 'Whatismyipaddress' along with the port 81. I have opened/allowed the Blue Iris 5 app to the Windows Defender as well as a Windows Defender TCP rule for port 81. I have tested with Windows Firewall turned off temporarily and I have a TCP/UDP port forwared in my router for 81. When I run one of my port-checking apps they always show my fixed B.I. IP address and the port 81. The odd thing is that I am able to get into B.I. with the Android app on phones and tablets but not from any of the computers (PCs or Macs) on my network. What keeps spinning around in my head, as I stare at the bedroom ceiling until 3AM and bolt right back to my system, is this: How can I be able to ping the address and port and get into B.I. via WIFI and cellular on my phone but NOT from a computer my own network via ethernet or WIFI? I imported all of the settings from my previous B.I. server into the new one and then confirmed that they are all correct. Everything else works incredibly well! I am thrilled by the speed and how smooth it runs... I just don't have my trusty UI3 that I typically monitor from my workstation during the day. Having to prop up my cellphone as a monitor is a poor replacement. A lot of you guys are smarter than me even on my best day so please prove me right once again and let me know if you have any thoughts on this. Oh, once I get this working I am then going to very quickly figure out how to make my system secure from the outside world once and for all. So, I'd like thanks to Sabatiantombs for the boot in rear to do so. I just want to see this work first before complicating things with more variables. Happy New Year, guys.
