It was a part time thing up until about year ago, when one day I was sitting at my machine going NUTS IMG_4447.JPGIMG_4454.JPG and I got a call from an old fire protection/security guy I used to work for 20 yrs ago and never looked back. This winter has been kinda slow, but things should pick up after weather gets warmer and the corona goes away. I do have to say that ipcamtalk.com has been a great help. Its a fountain of knowledge here. Thank-you everyone!!.:iloveipct:

Okay.
I’m still learning the basics of cameras and recording.

I ran some tests on one of my axis cameras. Figure with 15fps with VBR 1080, I’m getting around 50g a day.

So I’m trying to figure out what size battery back up I need? The Warehouse does have a generator, so it don’t have to back up for very long.
Power consumption on spec sheet for the NVR5232-16P-4KS2E says:

PoE: Max 25.5W for single port
130W total rated power, 80% control for protection.

For the trendnet tpe-1020ws switch power consumption is:
  • Up to 30 Watts per port with a 75 Watts total power budget

so does this mean 25.5 W x16 ports + 130W =538W for NVR

8x30W + 75W=315W for switch
Total 853W

so with using APC the calculator with 10 mins of back up time it’s says I need the
APC Smart-UPS C 1500VA LCD 120V with SmartConnect
SMC1500C
This is without expanding the system.
Anyone have some recommendations or if this is right?

TrenNet is 75 watts max. NVR is 130 watts max. Total 205 watts. I'd go with a UPS rated at 500 watts minimum and probably 1000 watts just cuz I over do things a little.
