View footage from a removed camera?

So i have just replaced one of my cams and setup the new one. I still have the video files available via windows explorer. Obviously it is much easier to view these in BI natively as they have all timestamp and alert information on the timeline. Is it possible to view these files withnin BI after the camera they were recorded on has been removed from my config?
