Old BI PC (Win 7) bit the big one (mobo failed), have new Win 10 box and ststem drive from old PC.

Want to avoid setting up a bunch of cams from scratch.

I see that I had been saving .reg files periodically from the old box to a NAS.

Is it going to be as simple as installing BI 4 on the new box and executing the latest .reg file?

How about if I upgrade to v5? Worth it? Anything different .reg-wise?

In all honesty if you have a simple setup I would just start from scratch, seen a few posts where migrating the settings caused problems, might be a pain but that’s what I would personally do.

Incidentally, Version 5 is miles ahead of version 4. Cameras can be configured to use sub streams for motion detection which dramatically lower CPU utilization by a factor of four or greater. Recently DeepStack AI has been integrated for verification of alerts. The DeepStack thing is still in it's very early development phase and can be a little buggy though. More than worth the few bucks to upgrade.
