Using Spotter Cameras to direct a PTZ where to look in an NVR or Blue Iris and setting a spotter cam as a priority in Blue Iris

Great thread and I now have left and right spotter cams cloned from actual cams. My PTZ is in the middle, between those two. When a spotter cam triggers, the PTZ moves to that area and then returns. Love it!

Question... Is there a way to not have the PTZ camera detect motion when changing presets? Thanks

Yes. PTZ tab near bottom right. Check the box for "Suspend motion detection."

Also can set different zones for different presets. Select a preset, Motion detection, Override motion zones, Edit.

Thanks for the reply! Also, what tab do I go to and create individual zone maps for each preset?

PTZ. As above, select a preset, Motion detection, Override motion zones, Edit button.

After initial testing, I'm going to turn off "Suspend motion detection". I believe it may be missing the first opportunity to trigger when it arrives at the preset. We'll see.

I've been dicking around with my SD4A425DB-HNY and it appears the "Idle Motion" feature in the WEB5.0 GUI will return it back to any preset you would like after it has been triggered to move. :thumb:

Is this working reliably for you? I have my SD49425XB-HNR set to return to Preset1 after 1 minute of idle motion and it doesn't seem to work. What is everybody else doing to reliably return their camera after it has completed tracking OR has failed to detect anything after a spotter has triggered it?

It still seems to be. Can you confirm you don't have motion at Preset2 that could be keeping it there and not letting it return?

Yep - no motion, granted I just set this up over the past few days and still trying to figure out a handful of aspects on this but this feature in particular is not working. I am thinking if preset 2 is called from BI and the camera does not move on it's own it will not trigger the 'idle' function and thus will not return to preset 1. I will play around more. Perhaps something is up with my firmware but I definitely do not want to touch that

I don't think it would be a firmware issue, and yes for the 49425 do not update it or you will lose autotracking.

If anything it is a BI version issue as I have helped many over DM and have seen it respond differently with newer versions. In some instances you have to put a PTZ command in the alert to put it back.

Did you set up a schedule like this? In my BI version that is what sends it back to the normal preset

I was originally using a 60 second wait w/ Preset call in the alert dialogue which seems to work fine (I enabled the wait to be cancelled if the cam was retriggered) but noticed that in this tread a few folks were talking about having the cam return to 'home' automatically after specific triggers ended. Would be nice if BI had a way to schedule an event after a trigger ended!

I had a similar issue. Time Task can be used to return it to a preset. Thread is here.

Ahh - for some reason the Time Task doesn't work either - interestingly when I go into the camera's menu through the live stream menu Idle & Time Task don't exist - must be a firmware issue where the GUI is giving the option but the feature actually doesn't exist in the firmware?

Is that the analog version of the 49425?

How did you get the selections to show up over the image? Mine are in the typical GUI format:

I stumbled across the OSD menu through Dahua's website:

Essentially in the 'live view' you hit 'Menu' on the right side - i was shocked to see that my menu did not match the website GUI

Here is the actual device info - do you have the same WEB Version as well?
