I am a long time user of Blue Iris and I always used OpenVPN app on iphone to get to my ASUS router and access the Blue Iris ISO app when not at home when I receive alerts from pushover. It has worked flawlessly. I recently got an Xfinity gateway XB8 and no longer using the ASUS router. I was able to setup the OpenVPN VPN on a Synology NAS on port 1194 and I'm able to connect to that VPN from my Iphone through my Xfinity gateway but I can't access anything on my home network, so I can't access the Blue Iris iOS app.
Blue Iris is working fine after the router change to Xfinity and all I had to do was change the ip addresses from the 192.xxxxx to 10.xxxx. My ASUS router handled the setup of the OpenVPN last time so it worked. I had to set it up this time on the Synolgy and I'm sure I don't have some of the settings correct. As I said I can see I'm connected to the Synology via OpenVPN app on my Iphone but that is where it ends, no internal access but I can still access internet on the phone. I think I set the VPN config file to be split tunnel so it uses my actual cellular connection for external websites when connected to the Synology via my iPhone. I hope this is just not all confusing. I will also say that I can't access the Synology NAS either when connected to the VPN that is on the Synology NAS.
Anyone done this that could help me out. I can post any information needed.
