A client has QSee HD 8 Channel QT718 NVR that does not work.

She's asked me to replace it.

Reviews all seem to suggest that Qsee is junk. Maybe somebody could offer a suggestion for replacement that would work with existing cameras?

Thanks,

The only choice is to match the NVR to the cameras so a QSee NVR is the only way to go. You may get them to work with a Dahua or Hikvision NVR, but it can be a real crapshoot with an emphasis on "crap".

I once successfully added the older model Dahua 2231 camera from Andy to a Qsee NVR. But not the other way around. Could you try take a cam down and see if it will connect to someone’s NVR?

My take:
Qsee - carried numerous difference OEM products, some I know were good Dahua OEM products. So, a lot really depends on the particular product in question.

QSee HD 8 Channel QT718 NVR

My Take:
Are you certain it is a NVR.

From a quick search it looks like a DVR based on what I pulled up from Amazon.

Please confirm if this is an NVR or a DVR.

Also please confirm what cameras are currently attached to this system.

You are right. I was ignorantly using dvr nvr interchangably. It has BNC connectors on it.
