Need help with Dahua setup

Hi,

Based on recommendation from this board, I purchased the following:

1 Dahua NVR5416-4KS2 NVR

1 Dahua HDW5231R-Z camera

2 Cat 6a Ethernet Cables and this

POE Switch

I’m trying to set up the system (without using the internet) just to check out the camera operation.

I’m a novice at this, so not sure I am configuring it correctly.

I used one CAT6a Ethernet Cable to connect the camera to slot 1 on the POE switch.

I then used the second Ethernet Cable to connect from slot 2 on the POE switch to the NVR.

The NVR is connected to my monitor with an HDMI cord

The default network configuration is using:

MTU 1500

Network Mode: Multi-address

Default card: Ethernet1

IPC Address 192.168.1.108

Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0

Preferred DSN 8.8.8.8

Alternate DNS 8.8.8.8


When I do a Device Search to add the camera, nothing is found.

I’m not sure if I have everything connected correctly or if I need to do a manual add for the camera.

I tried a manual add, but it still is not working correctly.

Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

You need to set the NVR and IP camera to different IP's, if your not running an existing LAN then try something like 192.168.1.100 for NVR, 192.168.1.101 for Camera1, etc.
