Hello all!

I have been running an intel i5-3570k with 5 cameras on BI4 for a few years. It's been ok but the web ui camera streaming looks a little slow and the cpu usage was always high but it worked

Now the CPU fan has stopped working and its maxing at 100%
When BI 4 is running the PC is pretty tanked. I think this might be due to the CPU throttle to avoid cooking

ANyway good excuse to upgrade I guess? I originally was looking at a Dell Optiplex with a i7-6700 but saw that i3 pretty cheap so if changed that motherboard and cpu it might cost around the same

I was looking at the i7-6700 but then I did some more digging and there is even more powerful newer CPUs out there that are not that expensive
Mind you I will be running BI5 this time and I also run Plex media server on it
( both as services)

I have a 6th camera sitting in the garage so if I get a time Ill probably hook that up somewhere

Sayin the above use cases
I was looking at either:

i3-12100 or if I can find one thats good priced a i5-13600K
So far where I am from I can get a i3-12100 for $150
the i5-13600k is priced around $500 so a fair bit more
The PC has an SSD for the OS and 2TB network HDD for the video clips
8GB of ram ( should really go 16 I think)

What do you guys think of the CPU choices?

Cool they are another good option
I think ill still consider pricing up one of those newer gen CPUs and another mobo
It might still end up cheaper/same cost for me and id be getting a much newer/faster cpu

I am in AUS so I just what you are running and this would cost me $420 AU
I havent chosen a motherboard yet but I could get the i3 and a mobo to suit for around 300
add another 8gb of ram it might cost roughly the same
