I just sent an email to Andy, since I bought the subject camera from him about a week shy of a year ago.
A few days ago, the camera went dark and required a power-cycle to get it to come on. At first I thought it was the cable (it's a long exterior underground run) but the cable tested out fine. Today, it would not power up after a power cycle.
I moved the camera indoors, plugging it into two different passive PoE switches, using two different patch cords. It stayed dark - not even the IR light came on. I tried a 1a 12V DC wall wart power supply and a non-PoE cat 5 cable, same results. Thus, I'm pretty confident something has gone pear-shaped inside the camera.
While I'm sure Andy will provide exceptional support, I figured I'd ask here if anyone has seen this behavior before, and if perhaps there is something user-serviceable that I could verify before abandoning the hardware.
It's a shame too, as about 4 other cameras used the crystal-clear audio stream from this camera.
