I tried to go to 192.168.1.108 in my browser and it gave me the following message:
Fail to start camera.
Fix it by ConfigTool.

With config tool I tried to set a password and it would not accept the password. I tried the 30 second button push on the camera and that didn't do anything to fix the issue. The camera was already initialized out of the box which seemed weird. Any ideas how to get the camera to work? I bought this on Amazon so I could always do an exchange if I have to. I'm using 12v power cable because it's in my garage and I didn't want to have a POE on that camera.

Is your network on the 192.168.1.xxx subnet?

Hold in the reset button and then apply power and hold it for a minute and see if that resets the camera.

My network is on 192.168.11.xxx but I changed my PC's ip temporarily to 192.168.1.200 and the gateway to 192.168.1.1 so I could access the new camera. However it doesn't want to play nice I guess. I will give the reset another go and see what it does.

Yeah it almost sounds like it is holding a previous setup-perhaps a return that got mixed up as a new?

I had my dad do the reset the camera but it's still behaving the same way. It even goes off-line. I wonder if this is a defective camera.

For kicks try poe power - Maybe the 12v side isn't working or maybe it isn't supplying enough amps to power the camera.

I will look around as I know I have one around here somewhere. I believe it is Cudy POE.

What are the wattage requirements for this camera with POE?

Spec sheet says 5.3 to 11.1 watts on 12 volt supply, 6.2 to 12.1 watts on POE. For the 12 volt supply it says +/- 30%. Pretty generous range.

I found an old ubiquity POE injector but it's only rated for 7 W so probably not enough. I believe I have a 30 W POE around here somewhere.

Just thought I would update this thread. I received my POE injector from Amazon today and hooked up to the camera inside the house for testing. The camera immediately showed up this time as uninitialized which seemed like a good sign. I initialize the camera and then went to 192.168.1.108 and immediately saw a picture. I changed the IP address of the camera to 192.168.11.176 (random number I thought of that wasn't being used) and we are good to go. Tested the alarm feature and wow! If I ever see a prowler in the driveway they are going to run! Can the siren be triggered through blue Iris or smart PSS?
