how do you stop the recordings on multiple cameras that are continuing for days

I have 6 cameras that when reviewing the recordings will have recordings going on for days that you can't stop. you can't delete them either . I think this is what maybe adding to my server that keeps crashing when the cameras all see activity and I am viewing through th Ui3 app on another pc it locks up sometimes I have to restart the cameras and the bi machine

May sound obvious but do you have them set for continuous recording? What recording format are you using? .bvr is the far preferred format.

bvr for recordings and the longest I have set for recording is 5 hours most are set for 20 minutes or an hour. this all started happening in the last 2 months.
another symptom is that I have about 70% motion dectected at night, no more possums. foxes and bears, oh my. this is starting to drive me nuts LOL

my Saga continues
this morning I had 2 cameras off line in BI so I go to the camera interface and I am able to access the cameras not problem but nothing on BI so I send a reboot command to one camera and I get server is busy on the Ui3 machine thank all cameras crash no access, a few seconds later I lose the connections to the net. so I reboot the main POE switch and still network. than I reboot the main switch, still no go. I tried accessing the router and it is not coming up so I reboot the router and still no net. it was only after I rebooted the BI machine that the network worked again.

another symptom is my videos are choppy and freeze

any suggestions?

Many are having problems with hardware acceleration. Turn those off if you are using them. Make sure you do it at the global level and then confirm it with each camera setting.

I found the global setting for hardware acceleration but I can't locate on the camera's tabs

I disabled motion detection on several cameras and that seemed to stop the problem with losing connection to the server and the locking up of the system but there must be a way to use motion detection and alerts . it used to work

From that, I'd say you need to tune the motion detection, area, object size and time needed to trigger. I'm plagued with lots of shadows from trees moving in the wind. Some days I have constant trips, falses eliminated by DS now, but the still trip.

I am not sure about the network issues but for video clips that seem to never end or stop recording, in BI on each camera under the "Record" tab, look to see if the "Combine or cut each video..." option is checked. Normally when I have similar issues I find that to be checked and need to uncheck it.

I record 24/7 and use combine/cut set at one hour. This problem seems to be more specific to the cameras being triggered for some reason.

Another thought is to shut off "object detection" or just use it for major scene lighting changes rather than actual object detection.

what about include all jpegs $timeline and record no signal?
record dual stream?
